What is the TOGETHER Capital Campaign?
The TOGETHER Capital Campaign is our church-wide effort to renovate the Main Worship Center at First Baptist Church of Powell. We entitled the campaign TOGETHER for a simple reason: we worship our Great and Almighty God in the Main Worship Center TOGETHER. We have been called to be part of His church TOGETHER, and we share the responsibility of stewarding the spaces He has entrusted to us so that He may be honored and celebrated by His people.
Our original campaign goal was $1,085,000. By the Lord’s faithfulness and through the generous giving of His people, we exceeded that goal, raising a total of $1,109,100.
We are deeply grateful for the sacrificial generosity of our church family and praise the Lord for providing everything needed for this project—TOGETHER.

Why a Remodel?
Our Main Worship Center is 26 years old and, because of the high frequency with which it is used throughout the year, was in significant need of renovation.
Our congregation had previously approved a $2.3 million remodel proposal. After prayerful consideration, church leadership took another look at the project, evaluating the purpose, function, style, cost, and broader needs of the ministries across our campus.
That process resulted in a new proposal with a reduced scope of work that would allow us to significantly improve the Main Worship Center while faithfully stewarding the resources the Lord has entrusted to our church.

The approved cost of the renovation is $1,085,000—nearly $1 million less than the previous proposal.
From the beginning, we committed ourselves to completing this project without taking on debt. Because the construction schedule required the majority of the funds to be available before work began, our church family was challenged to prayerfully consider how the Lord might lead each household to participate.
The Lord graciously provided beyond what we asked. Through the generosity of our church family, $1,109,100 was given toward the TOGETHER Capital Campaign, exceeding our original goal by $24,100.
We give thanks to God for His provision and to every individual and family who prayed, gave, and participated. This renovation represents far more than an updated room. It is an investment in a space where, Lord willing, generations will continue to gather to worship Christ, hear His Word proclaimed, celebrate His faithfulness, and encourage one another in the faith.
To God be the glory for what He has accomplished through His people—TOGETHER.

Where Are We Meeting During the Remodel?
While renovations are underway in our Main Worship Center, we are grateful for another space the Lord has graciously provided on our campus: the Family Life Center gymnasium.
During the remodel, we will gather for worship there each Sunday at:
8:00 AM - First Service
10:30 AM - Second Service
We are thankful for the Lord’s provision and for the opportunity to continue gathering as His church during this season. Though our meeting space may look a little different, our purpose remains the same: to worship Christ, hear His Word, and encourage one another TOGETHER.

What About Sunday School?
Thankfully, the renovation of our Main Worship Center will not prevent us from continuing to gather for Sunday School.
Sunday School will continue each Sunday at 9:30 AM in our various learning spaces across campus. You can learn more about our Sunday School classes here.
We are grateful for the many classrooms and meeting spaces the Lord has provided and look forward to continuing to study God’s Word, fellowship with one another, and grow in Christ throughout the renovation.
